What does feeling let down feel like?
A sinking feeling when the message says they can’t come after all. Then a mix: sadness, some anger, and often an urge to say you don’t mind. Being let down can also make you wary, slower to count on that person or that plan the next time.
Let down or disappointed?
Disappointed is wide: the weather, a film, a meal or your own exam result can disappoint you. Let down is narrower and more personal. Usually someone, or something you relied on, was meant to come through and didn’t. That’s why being let down can feel more like hurt than plain disappointment.
