What does feeling disappointed feel like?

The package arrives and the color is wrong. The trip is canceled, the results are lower than you’d worked for, the long-awaited movie is just fine. Disappointment often feels flat and heavy at once, and it can come with a small voice asking whether you should have hoped at all.

Disappointed or wronged?

Disappointed is about an outcome: things didn’t go the way you hoped, and maybe nobody is to blame, like rain on the day of the picnic. Wronged is about fairness. Someone acted unfairly, and you want it set right. A rejected job application can leave you disappointed; finding out the job went to the manager’s nephew can leave you feeling wronged.
