Feeling reassured
Feeling reassured means a doubt or fear has eased because of something you heard, read or learned, so you can stop bracing for the worst.

What does feeling reassured feel like?
The question that kept circling goes quiet. A friend says “no, you didn’t upset me”, the school calls back to say your child is fine, the tracking page shows the parcel on its way, and your mind lets go of the worst version of events.
Reassured or relieved?
Relieved follows an ending: the thing you feared didn’t happen, or it’s over. Reassured follows information: someone tells you, or you find out, that it’s going to be all right. You can be reassured the night before an exam, after a teacher says you’re ready, and relieved only once it’s done.
